Its generic name is carisoprodol and it is generally prescribed as a muscle relaxer. It is pharmacologically and structurally related to meprobamate, which is an agent that is potentially addictive.

Soma is prescribed to patients suffering from sprains and muscle pains that result after injuries. Patients taking this drug should have adequate rest, get physical therapy and take a number of medical precautions intended to reduce aches and help relax one’s muscles. At times this medicine is prescribed in conjunction with an anti-inflammatory balm or gem that takes away discomfort.

Some people suffering from muscle pains hesitate to buy Soma for they feel that the drug does not help them much. However, the drug is beneficial in that it relieves throbbing pain and spasms. Soma is also very safe to use in comparison to other drugs in the market. Even though carisoprodol can be addictive, taking it in the right manner will not cause any addiction. You should therefore inform your doctor if you have such a history before taking this drug.

You should therefore change your positions gradually. In addition to this, you should be cautious as you engage in activities that require high levels of alertness such as driving because Soma has the effect of making someone drowsy or dizzy. You should also limit the amount of alcohol you take while using this medication. If you are pregnant, you should use it only if it is highly necessary and find out the risks and benefits of taking it from your doctor. You should also consult your doctor before you start breastfeeding since Carisoprodol is excreted through breast milk.  Note that even if Soma is a popular and effective pain reliever, you should take it carefully to prevent adverse side effects.
